The Ancient Science

What is Prasna?

Not prediction. Listening.

Prasna is an ancient science within Jyotisha — the art of receiving answers from the cosmos at the precise moment of asking. When a sincere seeker arrives with a genuine question at an auspicious moment, the cosmos itself holds the answer.

Ambotti Thampuran, through years of dedicated practice and divine connection, reads that answer — not from a chart of the future, but from the living intelligence of the present moment.

"The answer is already here. Prasna is simply the discipline of listening."

Read This Carefully

Is This for You?

This consultation is not for everyone. It is for a specific situation — and you will know it when you read this. You have been living with a problem — perhaps for years, perhaps for a decade or more. You have tried everything. And still, it remains. Not because you are weak. But because some knots are tied at a level that human effort alone cannot reach.

A situation in your life has been stuck for many years despite your genuine effort

You have tried every available solution and nothing has moved

You feel a deep inner exhaustion from carrying this alone

You sense that something beyond the visible is blocking your path

You feel called to place this in the hands of the divine

If you are not sure, do not come yet. Wait. Clarity will come. Come only when you feel you have truly exhausted what you can do alone — and you are ready to surrender it to something greater.

Inside the Session

What Happens in the Consultation?

Each session is 45 minutes. In person. One-on-one.

You will meet Ambotti Thampuran in person at Bhavani Sakthi Peetam. You bring your questions. He listens — not just to your words, but to what the cosmos is saying through them at that precise moment. Through Prasna, he receives guidance from the divine and reflects it back to you. This is not therapy. It is not astrology in the conventional sense. It is a moment of direct transmission between your earnest seeking and Devi's living intelligence.

Clarity on the Root

Understanding what is truly blocking you — not the symptom, but the source.

Guidance on the Path

Ritual, karmic, or otherwise — a clear direction for what comes next.

Honesty

Including when the answer is "wait" or "this is yours to work through."

This is not a magic fix. It is a divine opening. What you do with it is yours.

Questions We're Often Asked

Understanding Prasna

What is Prasna, really?

Prasna (Prashna Shastra) is not a horoscope reading. It doesn't require your birth details or your past. The moment you ask a sincere question — held with real intent — becomes the chart that is read. What Ambotti Thampuran sees at that exact moment is treated as a mirror of the actual state of the situation you're asking about.

How do the answers arrive?

Not through calculation alone, and not through cold reading. Ambotti Thampuran reads the configuration of that moment while in direct connection with the divine. The chart shows the pattern; the connection is what allows it to be read correctly and translated into something you can actually use.

How should I frame my question?

Specific and honest, not vague. "Why does this keep happening in my career" works better than "will I be successful." Naming the actual situation — the relationship, the decision, the recurring block — gives the reading something real to address.

What kinds of things can I ask about?

Health that doesn't resolve. Relationships that repeat the same pattern. Business or career decisions you can't get clarity on. Family and ancestral patterns. Any point in life where something keeps stalling and you don't know why.

What should I expect — and what shouldn't I expect?

This is not entertainment, and it will not hand you a script of guaranteed outcomes on demand. What it will do is locate what is actually happening beneath the surface question, and why — so you leave with something you can act on, not just something you were told.

Why does the reading focus on root causes instead of just answering my question?

Because the question you ask is usually about a symptom — "why won't this marriage happen," "why does this business fail" — and answering only that would leave the actual cause untouched, free to produce the same result again in a different form. The reading is meant to find why the pattern exists in the first place, not just describe it back to you.

Why do I face problems I don't feel I caused in this life?

Not everything you carry originated with something you did. Some patterns are inherited — carried through ancestral lines, or from before this birth — and surface in your life as blocks you had no direct hand in creating. This is one of the most common things a Prasna reading uncovers: the cause sits further back than the person expects.

Can all problems be solved?

No — and that honesty matters more than a reassuring yes. Some problems resolve once their root is understood and the right corrective action is taken. Others are not meant to be solved at all — they are meant to be gone through, because the experience itself is doing something in you that no shortcut can replace. A Prasna reading's value is in telling you which is which, not promising a fix where the real answer is patience, understanding, or simply time.

Can every problem be resolved through yoga alone?

No. Personal practice — yoga, meditation, sadhana — genuinely purifies and strengthens you, and a great deal of what troubles a person does respond to it directly. But some karma isn't purely personal. It involves ancestors, unfulfilled dharma, or specific unresolved threads that your own internal practice doesn't automatically reach, because they were never only about you.

Then is ritual really necessary? Why can't Kriya Yoga, Gnana Yoga, or Hatha Yoga resolve everything?

Yoga transforms the practitioner — but a debt owed to an ancestor, or a specific unresolved thread in your lineage, isn't dissolved simply because you became more disciplined or more aware. It calls for the precise corrective action that situation actually requires, the way a specific illness needs a specific remedy, not general fitness. And to be clear — ritual is not a bribe that clears a ledger; the universe doesn't accept payment in place of the real thing. It only registers what is genuinely done. A Prasna reading's real job is telling you which kind of problem you have — one your own practice will resolve with time, or one that needs a specific rite — so you're not spending years applying the wrong tool to the wrong problem.
